COACHES

KYSL has a set of rules and regulations for each age group. Please read through the rules for your child's age group and feel free to reach out with any questions.

U5 KYSL

RULES

KYSL Rules U5

4 vs 4 on the field (minimum of 3 players to start the game).
Length of game is 24 minutes not counting quarters and half time (4 x 6min quarters).
No goalies, penalty kick, or throw ins. Coaches will re-start the game with a drop ball on half field.
Reset line for opposing team is center line for goal kicks.
No offsides.
There will be no referees. Coaches be prepared to referee your own game (bring a whistle).
Refrain from favoring your own team.
ALL players are to play 50% of the game, regardless of attendances of practice.
Practice good sportsmanship, after the game shake hands. Encourage positive parent
involvement by cheering. Discourage criticism of players and coaches.

U8 KYSL

RULES

KYSL Rules U8

5 vs 5 on the field (minimum or 4 players to start the game).
Length of game is 40 minutes not counting quarters and half time (4 x 10min quarters).
No goalies or penalty kicks.
Reset line for opposing team is center line for goal kicks.
All free kicks will be indirect two touch.
No offsides.
There will be no referees. Coaches be prepared to referee your own game (bring a whistle).
Refrain from favoring your own team.
ALL players are to play 50% of the game, regardless of attendances of practice.
Practice good sportsmanship, after the game shake hands. Encourage positive parent
involvement by cheering. Discourage criticism of players, coaches, and referees.

U6 KYSL

No goalies or penalty kicks.
Reset line for opposing team is center line for goal kicks.
Throw in are instructional. All free kicks will be indirect two touch.
No offsides.
There will be no referees. Coaches be prepared to referee your own game (bring a whistle).
Refrain from favoring your own team.
ALL players are to play 50% of the game, regardless of attendances of practice.
Practice good sportsmanship, after the game shake hands. Encourage positive parent
involvement by cheering. Discourage criticism of players and coaches.

U10 KYSL

RULES

KYSL Rules U10

7 vs 7 on the field (minimum or 6 players to start the game).
Length of game 50 minutes not counting half time (2 x 25min halves).
There must be a goalie (1) and 6 field players.
There will be off-sides, throws in, free kicks, direct and indirect.
ALL players are to play 50% of the game, regardless of attendances of practice.
Substitutions shall be called pursuant to the laws of the game (possession and dead ball
situations).
Practice good sportsmanship, after the game shake hands. Encourage positive parent
involvement by cheering. Discourage criticism of players, coaches, and referees.

U12 KYLS

KYSL Rules U12

11 vs 11 on the field (minimum or 8 players to start the game).
Length of game is 60 minutes not counting half time (2 x 30mins halves).
There must be a goalie (1) and 10 field players.
There will be off-sides, throws in, free kicks, direct and indirect.
ALL players are to play 50% of the game, regardless of attendances of practice.
Substitutions shall be called pursuant to the laws of the game (possession and dead ball
situations).
Practice good sportsmanship, after the game shake hands. Encourage positive parent
involvement by cheering. Discourage criticism of players, coaches, and referees.
